The Beautiful Earthscapes Of Andres Amador Are Temporary Brilliance

When most artists dedicate hours upon hours of their lives to a project, they don’t expect it to disappear into thin air. However, that’s exactly what Andres Amador knows will happen. That’s because his beautiful artworks are made to be temporary. He is an earthscape artist.

We have featured Andres’s artwork before, but he has since created even more wonderful earthscapes in the sand. It’s amazing that, at one point in his life, Andres was a computer technician. Thankfully, his creativity, flair for perfection, and a new found obsession with fractals led him to embracing this art form.

With just a rake and maybe some string for making measurements, Andres creates art you won’t believe.

Not only is this large, beautiful creation temporary…

But it was made from material found in the Earth…and that will go back to the Earth.

Every high tide will wash away Andres’s work.

That doesn’t stop him from spending so much of his life creating temporary masterpieces.

There are two kinds of patterns that Andres specializes in. The first is geometric. These designs, like fractals, are made with precise measurements and an eye for perfection. Seeing this kind of artwork up-close will make you realize just how difficult it must be to keep everything properly sized and in proportion.

This is an example of one of his geometric shapes.

The second kind of pattern that Andres creates is more organic.

It seems to grow and flow naturally. It is perfect in its own way.

But the focus isn’t on exact angles or spacing.

There is beauty in what seems to flow naturally from Andres and into the ground.

It’s like the sand tells Andres what to do, and he happily complies.

To take the pictures of the breathtaking tableaux, Andres uses a drone.

He flies the camera high above the beach so he can take photographs of his finished work.

…If he can manage it before the tide rolls in, that is.

More and more people are noticing Andres’s incredible creations on various beaches. The public has become so interested in what he can do, Andres is now offering earthscaping workshops. If you are living in (or visiting) California, you can spend an afternoon with the artist and learn about his craft.

Or, if you can’t attend a workshop, soon you can buy your own calendar of gorgeous earthscape prints. In order to fund the project, Andres has started a Kickstarter for the calendar. Once he raises enough money to help him create this collection of works, it’ll be truly amazing to see them all side-by-side.

It’s hard to believe one man can spend so much time on something he knows won’t last forever…

Andres sees beauty in the world beyond what most people care to see. He embraces the temporary things in this life, as we all should. After all, all things in this life must pass. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate them.
