This young elephant certainly lived up to his name when he found himself in a skirmish with a large group of lionesses.
The calf, named Hercules, was somehow separated from his herd and left to defend himself from 14 fierce felines. These lionesses cornered him on his walk along the beach at the Norman Carr Safari Camp in Zambia, Africa. However, he didn’t let the big cats get the best of him.
The video, recorded by guests visiting the camp, shows how overwhelming the situation could have been.
But the young tusk never gives up, even with three of the lionesses clawing on his back at one point.
He finds safety in the water. Big cats aren’t too fond of getting splashed, just like their domestic cousins.
This brave kiddo makes sure they won’t try messing with him again.
You can watch the incredible battle in this video:
Standing up to bullies can be hard, but Hercules proves we just need confidence and endurance to win against even the most daunting of odds. Way to go, Hercules!
