Ten years ago, Kellie Haddock heard the tragic words that no one ever wants to hear from a hospital bed: “You’ve been in a very bad car accident. Your husband was killed instantly from the impact, and we had to rush you and your baby to the hospital via a helicopter.”
Kellie and her 14-week-old son, Eli, survived their extensive injuries. Ten years later, the grateful mom decided to host an event for the medical team who enabled her baby to survive the accident. She wanted to thank each medical professional in person. She invited them to an event, and each of these meetings were emotional and heartfelt, with no shortage of tears.

Kellie says she hopes her story will inspire others to say “thank you” to the hardworking people who affected their lives. She notes that for many of the medical professionals she spoke with, all admitted that they were never sought out by former patients. I’m glad she and her son still have each other, and it’s amazing how thankful she was for these people even a decade later.
