Kitsault is a town in British Columbia, Canada, that was completely abandoned many years ago. It was originally a mining town built in 1979 by the Phelps Dodge mining company. Unfortunately, the mine dried up over a year after the town was built.
Workers and their families were told to leave, often by force. Phelps Dodge ended up repurchasing all of the homes. Selling everything in the town wouldn’t have evened out its cost, so Kitsault was promptly abandoned. It remains today, frozen in time.

I’ve always wanted to visit an abandoned town. These photos make you wonder if this is what all towns will look like when humans are no longer on Earth.
