Kenny The Rescued Wombat Is Now The Internet’s Cutest Napper

When Kenny the wombat was a baby, his mother was hit and killed by a driver. He was left for dead alongside her, until a heroic couple found him and drove over 100 miles to the Australian Reptile Park to save him. Kenny has since found a home at the park and became an Internet sensation. He did this while finding the absolute perfect spot to nap that you can’t help but love.

When he first arrived, caretakers weren’t sure he’d survive. After being bottlefed and monitored around the clock, he not only survived, but thrived with his adoptive family.

Now seven months old, he’s old enough to leave the side of his parents every now and again to explore on his own.

“As soon as he is out of the pouch in the bedroom of his caretaker, he heads for the bottom drawer,” Libby Bain, from the Australian Reptile Park, told the Daily Telegraph.

“He has learnt to nudge out the edge of drawer and then he walks around to the front to push it open. He climbs in — which takes a few minutes because he’s only little, then he rearranges the clothes and flat out he’s asleep.”

If Kenny keeps progressing, caretakers hope to one day return him to the wild. In the meantime, I don’t think he’ll mind having a few more naps in his favorite spot…
