Adorable Dog Abandoned With His Own Suitcase In Scotland Train Station

Bringing a dog, or any pet, into your home is an important decision that is unfortunately taken far too lightly far too often. So many helpless animals are left abandoned when their family decides they just can’t handle the responsibility.

That was the case in Scotland when Kai, a sweet Shar-Pei puppy about two or three years old, was discovered alone in a train station. Kai was accompanied only by a small suitcase filled with a few of his things.

Authorities found food, a bowl, a toy, and a pillow inside the suitcase.

They traced the pup’s microchip to his former owners who claimed to have sold him back in 2013.

His former owners say they sold him on the English website Gumtree, similar to Craigslist, and have no information on the location of those who purchased the pooch. Abandoning animals is punishable in Scotland under the Animal Health and Welfare (Scotland) Act 2006, but authorities are still searching for those cruel enough to leave this cutie on his own.

Inspector Stewart Taylor of the Scottish SPCA hopes that this sad situation at least serves as a lesson in impulse animal buying. Above all, Kai deserves a loving, responsible family – we hope he finds his true forever home soon enough.
