There have been many kitchen innovations in the last several decades that have made chefs’ jobs much much easier. Some people have become wealthy because of these ingenious inventions, and some kitchen implements have even become staples in households everywhere.
But some forays into the world of kitchen tech have been rather…ill-advised. With so many people inventing new things, it only makes sense that there would be a good number of duds. Sometimes, when everyone is rushing to create something that will make them a buck, you end up with some seriously useless stuff.

Sure, if you have a fear of spherical objects and a love of square ones, this product is perfect for you. If not, I’m not sure how this could possibly help in the kitchen.

If you haven’t learned how to twirl spaghetti using a regular fork, or don’t care to, this fork twirls for you. Then again, according to my calculations, it would be 100% cheaper to just learn how to do it on your own…

Apparently we need new and exciting ways to get butter on our food. Nothing says “delicious” more than slowly pushing semi-solid butter from a dispenser on to food.

Before you run out and spend your hard-earned money on this, remember, you probably own a fork or spoon. And, you have fingers.

I know we’re all trying to watch what we eat, and for some of us that means not eating any egg yolks. My problem with this is that a.) it really isn’t that complicated to
remove the yolks yourself and b.) it seems like a waste – just buy egg whites.

Were people demanding a better way to prepare a PBJ sandwich? A regular knife suffices, folks.

Do you really need a place to hang your bananas? It’s not like if you leave them on the counter they’re going to get dirty. They are bananas, the part you eat can’t get dirty until you’re already eating it.

I get it: You want to be able to cut and pick up your slice pizza quicker. But, what’s the rush? Why are you in such a hurry? Slow down, enjoy your pizza.

Why not just use a regular knife to slice your bananas? It kind of looks like a finger slicer or a cigar cutter – and what if the banana is too big?

Looking for a more complicated way to peel garlic than just using a regular chef’s knife? By all means, spend your money on this contraption.

I can see this being useful for older folks or those with insufficient upper body strength, but come on, do you really need this thing taking up space in your already cluttered kitchen?

Strawberry stems are probably some of the easiest things in the world to remove. The fact that there is a whole implement to assist someone in this easy task is just a sign of our laziness.

Maybe this would come in handy at a BBQ…where there’s no grill. Aside from that though, how often are you eating hot dogs that you’d need one of these things? Should we be worried?

While butter is a very important condiment, there simply shouldn’t be this many inventions devoted to it. How is this item better than using a knife to slice butter and spread it on your corn? Personally, I prefer buttering a slice of bread and spreading it that way – efficient, and you can eat the bread after!

True, when you put a taco down, it topples over and things can fall out. But here’s a thought: Don’t put your taco down, just eat it. Problem solved. You’re welcome.

Let’s be honest, it might seem like a good idea to spend money on these things, but if you think twice, they’re all a little iffy. And come on, does anyone really need this stuff? I think it’s safe to say…probably not.
