What Cops Discovered In A Freaky Swamp Will Leave You Completely Baffled

The Bear Creek Swamp in Autauga County, Alabama, might just be one of the creepiest places on Earth. If the murky water and swirling mists aren’t enough to scare you, the discovery of 21 porcelain dolls tied to stakes in the muck might just do it.

The dolls were discovered by local police in the swamp after numerous mentions on social media.

Police recovered a total of 21 dolls from the swamp. Each one was tied to a bamboo stake and looked like their faces and hair were sprayed with white paint.

Despite the sinister appearance of the dolls, police suspect the motive to be more mischievous than anything else.

The dolls were already in the swamp for a while by the time police removed them. “I noticed the dolls several weeks ago while driving through the swamp working on a stolen vehicle report,” said Chief Deputy Joe Sedinger. “I just thought they were a Halloween prank, and really didn’t give it much thought after that.”

Bear Creek Swamp has a spooky reputation in the local area. It’s not uncommon for teenagers to explore the swamp at night looking ghosts and a good scare.

A lumber company owns the land where the dolls were found. So far, no one knows how or why the dolls were out there. Police say they’ll hold the dolls at the station until the owner comes forward.
