Last spring, a family in the Yukon territory of Canada came across a very tiny baby animal, abandoned in the wild. They assumed that it was a puppy, it had an adorable round nose and the little ears of a baby canine. They took it under their roof and got it a surrogate dog mother. At first, wildlife officials speculated that maybe he was a wolverine or an otter, but they have since come to the conclusion that he’s actually a little fox cub. The little guy will be raised as the fox that he is on a wildlife sanctuary. Due to such an early exposure to human care, he won’t be able to return to the wild. To tell you the truth, though, I kind of wish the family kept him so we could watch a fox grow up as a dog….like a human raised by wolves, but cuter.
But I’m no wildlife expert, and I
guess the path the pro’s took is the best.
