You’ll Never Believe What Winter Salt Is Doing To Our City’s Squirrels

As the winter weather brings with it slick roads and slippery sidewalk conditions, many cities are sprinkling the ground with salt to keep the streets safe for commuters. But one side effect of that method might be making our wildlife…change colors?

Theories throughout the thread as to why the salt would cause the color change range from the use of beet juice to possible calcium bromine contamination from nearby fracking sites.
